Axis Mundi—the world axis—names the sacred centre where heaven and earth meet. This series brings together figures from diverse spiritual traditions who each embody this threshold: Apollo, Baphomet, the Baptist, Buddha, Christos, Dionysus, the Divine Mother, and Hathor. Working with sacred geometry and esoteric symbolism specific to each tradition, these paintings explore how different cultures have visualized the same essential mystery—the vertical bridge between worlds, the human figure as conduit for transformation.

Rather than flattening these distinct lineages, the work honours their particular iconographies while revealing shared architectural principles beneath surface difference. Each icon becomes both portal and map, inviting viewers to recognise these figures not as distant gods but as archetypal patterns of consciousness available across time and tradition.
